Unholy blood manga5/7/2023 ![]() ![]() The side villians had clear motivations even if they were simple ones. He was luke warm and wasn't sure about what he wanted in the end. Also he justifies killing humans which was one thing but nothing ever justifies him killing the parents. It's understandable with the female leads development because she was emotional and felt betrayed but this guy hated the whole world and yet couldn't kill the female lead they knew they had no chance with after what they did. Like no matter how many times I wrapped my head around it he had multiple chances. I found them to be a problem because despite how much they were capable of they were hindered because they were in love the female lead? Yet they had an easy time taking out her parents who also showed him kindness. The reason why I couldn't bring myself to give it an 8.0 because of how the main villain was handled compared to the side villains who seemed to be more interesting. Giving it at least 6.7 excluding the way the the art was handled giving the story more depth atmosphere and left me feeling amazed. The emotional expression of the characters makes the story more believable and helps it feels more real. The author and her assistants did a very good job at capturing emotions such as loneliness. It doesn't have the deepest story now that I look back at it but the way the story was handled is why it gets a high rating. ![]() However the story took itself seriously and character development was handled nicely. You'll find characters boasting about themselves not too often but still the characters are very flirty excluding the female lead. But some things were dragged on for too long but was fixed with comedy. It was enjoyable and kind of funny and some parts were a little unpredictable. While Martin praised the characters of Doris and Rei-Ginsei, he criticized D and Count Magnus Lee as having weak characterizations. But why it loses points has nothing to do with the Mary sue part. However, he called the plotting "fairly rudimentary" and a standard tale of a hero and heroine struggling against colorful opposition coming from different directions, where even the few twists are hardly unique. He praised the setting as a wholly credible world ruled by vampires and grounded in science fiction, rather than fantasy or the supernatural. Theron Martin of Anime News Network called the novel "a competent vampire-hunting story with enough strong points to balance out its weaknesses" and gave it a B rating. The novel is adapted into a direct-to-video film of the same name in 1985 and a manga series, Hideyuki Kikuchi's Vampire Hunter D, in 2007. Doris knows she isn't the only one in trouble - her younger brother is perceived as her weakness, and more than one person is willing to use him as leverage against her. Both men are eager to eliminate D, as his skills and Doris' favor make them see him as a threat. The same goes for the skilled fighter Rei-Ginsei and his Fiend Corps. Greco Rohman, son of the chief, wants Doris for himself. ![]() Enlisting the help of Garo, a werewolf retainer, she attempts to kill Doris before the wedding, only to find D standing against her. His beautiful daughter Larmica refuses to let a human into her family. There was but one option left, and as she watched him ride in from the distance she knew there was hope. and something else.ĭoris Lang knew what her fate would be when the vampire lord Count Magnus Lee bit her: an agonizing transformation into one of the undead, doomed to be stalked by her fellow villagers or cursed to become the bride of the unholy creature and face an eternity of torment, driven by the thirst for human blood.
